This project is designed to spotlight district successes and also guide those striving for consistently high-quality teaching and learning across their systems. REACH offers a framework that is tangible and applicable for educators, district leaders, and partners alike. As you read the case studies, use the guiding questions and facilitation protocols in this toolkit to support your own self-assessment and strategic planning. Not sure where to start? This toolkit includes:

  • Districts-at-a-glance: a high level snapshot of the size, demographics, and curriculum(s) used in each district profiled.

  • How to navigate the case studies: a brief summary of each case study’s transformation story and who may be most interested in its takeaways.

  • Guiding questions: a starting point for focused conversation, organized by sections in the REACH acronym — Resource, Equip, Assess + Adjust, Cohere, and Hardwire.

  • Facilitation protocols: A set of 3 protocols designed to support engagement with the case studies. They are meant to move readers from understanding what a district did, to analyzing why it worked, to identifying what it means for their own context.

  • REACH Handouts: Corresponding tools to help guide each of the facilitation protocols.
